A 20 gallons fish tank is a perfect choice, especially for beginners. It is not a large tank so it does no takes up a lot of space, but large enough to help maintain stable parameters.
It is quite affordable and easier to set up since most 20 gallons tanks include almost aquarium equipment needed for the aquarium.
#1 Shape and Material
Most 20 gallons tanks are designed in 2 shapes: high and long. A 20 gallons high tank is suited to mid-water fish, who are prefer to swim between the surface and the substrate.
Meanwhile, both Marine and Aqueon tanks are long shapes. They are best for the fish that primarily live on the top or the bottom area.
Aqueon dimensions are 24.25″L x 12.5″W x 16.75″H and Marine is measure 24” L x 12.5” W x 16.5” H. Before choosing to the tank, make sure that you have enough space to place it and a flat sturdy area for the tank to sit on
Besides, these two aquariums are made of glass, not acrylic. Acrylic tank is more stable, lightweight, and resistant scratches. However, the glass tanks are much cheaper, maintain the clearness of the tank for longer and the best option for a long-term investment.
Marine tank comes with Marine Slim S20 clip-on filter with quick-change filter cartridges. This filter has 3 pieces of filtration. A three parts filtration will allow you to change the filter pad weekly, which will help to keep the tank cycled and also keep the stable water parameters.
However, some users complain that this filter is noisy and the cover is flimsy. After a few time using, you may want to purchase on a separately fish tank filter.
Aqueon includes Quietflow 10 LED PRO power filter. This filter has a red LED light built-in, which will indicate if it is the time to change the cartridge. In addition, this is the enhanced five-stage filtration and included an ammonia specialty filter pad. This filter also seems to be quieter than Marine’s filter.
